About the Author

A scholar’s mind, a servant’s heart.

E. C. Andercheck is a Benedictine oblate of Saint Meinrad and a historical theologian, a writer who joins contemplative spirituality to the hard discipline of the archive.

He combines decades of ministry and corporate leadership with a scholar’s rigor to create the unbridled strategic thinking that lies beneath his research and writing. He holds a Doctor of Ministry from Duke University in the Theology of Christian Leadership, and a Master of Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University.

His work spans theology, ecclesiology, ecumenism, social justice, and Christian leadership in the medieval church. His research interests include the Church in medieval England, the administration of temporal goods, spirituality, and the long labor of Christian unity.
